Paul J. Murphy, who served as senior litigation partner at the renowned global law firm, King & Spalding, LLP, had a career that heavily immersed him in a multitude of matters in the life sciences sector. During his tenure, Paul represented Fortune 500 and private companies across various industries in complex, high-stake “bet the company” litigation, including class actions, mass actions, and appellate matters at the state and federal levels. Throughout his career, Paul was routinely ranked by his peers in the top tier for his excellence in the areas of commercial, tort, intellectual property and banking litigation in leading legal ranking publications, such as Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America.
Paul is deeply dedicated to advancing mental health treatment for individuals and their families. In addition, he is actively committed to community service, pro bono legal service, and non-profit board work. This includes volunteer board and advisory work for the Atlanta Volunteer Legal Foundation (AVLF), Emory University Public Interest Committee (EPIC), National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Georgia Chapter, Holy Innocents Episcopal School, and Tabor Academy. He was recently awarded AVLF’s Lifetime Achievement Award and elected Emeritus Trustee at Tabor Academy for his many years of dedicated service to those institutions.
Paul graduated with honors from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where he received his B.S. in Marine Transportation, U.S.C.G. license and commission in the United States Naval Reserve. He graduated from Emory University School of Law and is admitted to the Georgia Bar.
